Perfect for higher end home cinema systems the new 7.2 channel AVENTAGE RX-A660 is set to be a firm favourite amongst custom installers - as it offers a performance upgrade from the RXv series, and now has full Dolby Atmos® & DTS:X™ support. Plus for those of you looking for integration, it also has been manufactured with one eye on control system integration as well. Like all the AVENTAGE series, the RX-A660 features network control with Yamaha's YNC & YNCA command protocols, and extended control system support. The AVENTAGE series has been manufactured with sound quality in mind first and foremost - and with the new support for Dolby Atmos® & DTS:X™, this AV Receiver will deliver that in abundance for any 'Object Based Audio' format. The combination of Dolby Atmos & DTS:X and Yamaha AV receivers will fill the room with multidimensional sound that makes your customers feel as if you are right in the middle of the story unfolding on the screen. The Yamaha AVENTAGE product line, expertly harmonise traditional and advanced technologies, and every factor that affects sound quality. From materials and parts to construction, layout, vibration damping (unique foot) and “fine-tuning” the sound, they ensure that any audio/visual reproduction is handled with no other thought than to achieve the best possible audio quality. As a result, every AVENTAGE model has the ability to reproduce the most subtle details of high-definition sound, so that listeners can enjoy a truly high-class sound studio experience at home. Now being an object based audio receiver means that the RX-A660 can be beautifully partnered with a range of speaker options from Connected Distribution's portfolio, and these can include Cabasse's brilliant Eole 3 in-ceiling satellites (for the 'elevation' aspect) and free standing satellites, or Atlantic Technology's formidable IC-6-OBA high performance in-ceiling speakers (for the 'elevation' aspect) and exceptional in-wall IW series for getting the best from any 5.1.2/5.2.2 systems. Of course if you are not fussed by the incorporation of object based audio - this unit can be conventionally set up as a thoroughbred 7.2 channel AV receiver, or it can be set up as a 5.1 system - with zone B speakers (stereo mirror of the main 5.1 zone - please note: not independent like a Zone 2). For ease of integration the RX-A660 also benefits from Yamaha's AV web set up configuration, meaning projects can be set up swiftly and easily by simply loading the IP address of the unit in your web-browser. This feature even enables help on remote access too if required (3rd party software required), and enables changes on the fly quickly without the use of the OSD or front panel options. For installers it also has network control for integration with most control systems, plus it has Yamaha's extremely useful web set up and back up utility, which enables you to save and load the system set up for customers on initial installation, or remotely also - making it a must for the best installations. The RX-A660 aside from the thrilling addition of object based audio processing is also a network receiver. As such, it opens up the world of music streaming music services, Apple AirPlay®, Yamaha's AV Controller app and also Yamaha's adaptable and easy to use network 'ecosystem' MusicCast. Set up wirelessly or hard wired the RX-A660 is the source for a host of high definition multi-media - musical or visual - it will fit beautifully into most applications. With MusicCast it enables users to use a smartphone or tablet together with the MusicCast CONTROLLER app to operate and change settings quickly and easily. The same Controller app functions as a remote control for all Yamaha MusicCast-compatible devices too. The RX-A660 features 4 HDMI® inputs with 1 HDMI output. The unit supports 4K Ultra HD Full with 4K60p (4:4:4) & HDCP2.2 - plus has HDR Video and BT.2020 pass-through. Also it features handy HDMI upscaling (Analogue to HDMI / HDMI to HDMI), so those customers with existing lower grade DVD content or 'legacy' analogue video inter-connectivity can also get the best from these mediums - and benefit from simpler connectivity to screens also. For ease of operation Yamaha's front mounted 'Scene' buttons on the fascia (and via remote and app) also enable simple usage and 'pre-set' control - to call up your favourite inputs with all your desired settings for processing entwined. The unit also benefits from the addition of CEC control which makes it perfect for usage with a host of supported devices for simple and easy control. This feature also helps with integration with Pulse-Eight's range of neo HD matrixes - so fantastic integration within projects that are 'centralised' as opposed to 'localised', can be achieved without the over expense of bespoke automation systems. The RX-A660 is a fundamental option for many projects that require all the latest features, that require a powerful AV receiver that will 'multi-task' across most formats and connectivity...and most importantly; that demand the very best audio visual performance and reliability too.
