Being a network receiver it opens up the world of music streaming music services, Apple AirPlay®, Yamaha's AV Controller app and also Yamaha's adaptable and easy to use network 'ecosystem' MusicCast.

MusicCast employs a high performance wireless network to deliver music and audio enjoyment. It can stream digital music content from your smartphone, PC or NAS to other MusicCast devices in your home. It can also share the music from external devices such as a TV or Blu-ray Disc™ player connected to the RX-V583. Audio content from Bluetooth®-connected smartphones or tablets can also be streamed to MusicCast devices in multiple rooms. 

This adaptive expandability allows you to integrate multi-room audio applications with your main home cinema. Simply add in any Yamaha MusicCast enabled device - such as the Yamaha WXA-50 for instance - and you have a modular and harmonised easy to use whole home audio system.

The combination of Dolby Atmos and Yamaha AV receivers will fill the room with multidimensional sound that makes you feel as if you are right in the middle of the story unfolding on the screen. Any layout can be appropriately reproduced, including the three-dimensional space of CINEMA DSP as well as Dolby Atmos.

In conjunction with Dolby Atmos, the Yamaha RX-V583 now also supports DTS:X. DTS:X is the next generation object-based, multi-dimensional audio technology from DTS. Unbound from channels, DTS:X conveys the fluid movement of sound to create an incredibly rich, realistic and immersive sound-scape - in front of, behind, beside and above the audience - more accurately than ever before.

Now being an object based audio receiver means that the RX-V583 can be beautifully partnered with a range of speaker options from Connected Distribution's portfolio, and these can include Cabasse's brilliant Eole 3 in-ceiling satellites (for the 'elevation' aspect) and free standing satellites, or Atlantic Technology's formidable IC-6-OBA high performance in-ceiling speakers (for the 'elevation' aspect) and exceptional in-wall IW series for getting the best from any 5.1.2/5.2.2 systems.

Sound quality and accurate reproduction of audio is key to any Yamaha product, and with the RX-V583 this attention to detail is not missed as this receiver can handle a host of high resolution audio codec's (supporting DSD 2.8MHz / 5.6MHz, FLAC / WAV / AIFF 192kHz / 24bit, Apple Lossless 96kHz / 24-bit playback). This 80 watt per channel AV Receiver also features YPAO and front panel USB Digital Connection for USB thumbdrives and also features Bluetooth® for wireless music streaming (with compressed music enhancer for Bluetooth).

The RX-V583 also has 192kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels and benefits from Yamaha's discrete amp configuration. In conjunction with the audio processing - the multi-channel processing also caters for the best performance as this AV receiver is compatible with many audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio, and also has Yamaha's adept HD Audio decoding with CINEMA DSP 3D (17 DSP programmes). The RX-V581D benefits from many of Yamaha's proprietary technologies as well - such as 'Dialogue Level Adjustment' for proper sound balance with dialogue and vocals, plus it also features Yamaha's 'Virtual CINEMA FRONT' which provides virtual surround sound if you can only have 5 speakers in the front of your system.

The RX-V583 AV receiver completely supports with latest HDMI® standards. Thanks to transmission of 4K video at 60 frames per second pass-through, you can fully enjoy the high definition video quality of 4K without degradation. It also adheres to the HDCP2.2 copyright protection standard for 4K video transmission. It also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) Video including Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma which provides incredible contrast, smooth tone and rich, bright colours. Furthermore it supports the wider colour gamut of BT.2020 pass-through. This AV receiver is also compatible with 3D, Audio Return Channel and CEC for easy operation. Furnished with 4 dedicated HDMI® and 1 HDMI® output, alongside complimentary analogue and digital av connections - it can cater for most applications where performance is high, but the budget perhaps is not.
