MusicCast employs a high performance wireless network to deliver music and audio enjoyment. It can stream digital music content from your smartphone, PC or NAS to other MusicCast devices in your home. It can also share the music from external devices such as a TV or Blu-ray Disc™ player connected to the RX-V683. Audio content from Bluetooth®-connected smartphones or tablets can also be streamed to MusicCast devices in multiple rooms. 

This adaptive expandability allows you to integrate multi-room audio applications with your main home cinema. Simply add in any Yamaha MusicCast enabled device - such as the Yamaha WXA-50 for instance - and you have a modular and harmonised easy to use whole home audio system.

The combination of Dolby Atmos and Yamaha AV receivers will fill the room with multidimensional sound that makes you feel as if you are right in the middle of the story unfolding on the screen. It transports you from an ordinary moment into an extraordinary experience with captivating, multidimensional sound that fills your room with amazing richness and depth. Yamaha's RX-V583 provides multiple placement patterns for presence speakers that support Dolby Atmos, creating a sound field that’s ideal for your set-up. In conjunction with Dolby Atmos, the Yamaha RX-V683 now also supports DTS:X. DTS:X is the next generation object-based, multi-dimensional audio technology from DTS. Unbound from channels, DTS:X conveys the fluid movement of sound to create an incredibly rich, realistic and immersive sound-scape - in front of, behind, beside and above the audience - more accurately than ever before.

The RX-V683 now also has HDMI®with eARC (Audio Return Channel), enabling object based audio formats to be 'back-fed' to the AVR from your TV (eARC supports the most advanced audio formats such as object-based audio, and enables advanced audio signal control capabilities including device auto-detect), opening up simple integration and operation in tandem with the best possible audio performance from cloud based movie services.

Now being an object based audio receiver means that the RX-V683 can be beautifully partnered with a range of speaker options from Connected Distribution's portfolio, and these can include Cabasse's brilliant custom installation range, high end satellites and free standing speakers, or Atlantic Technology's formidable IC-6-OBA high performance in-ceiling speakers (for the 'elevation' aspect) and exceptional in-wall IW series for getting the best from any 5.1.2/5.2.2 systems. Of course if you are not fussed by the incorporation of object based audio - this unit can be conventionally set up as a thoroughbred 7.2 channel AV receiver, or it can be set up as a 5.1 system - with zone 2 speakers (Stereo). Here Yamaha have enhanced the secondary zone functionality too with the RX-V683 with enhanced bass and tonal control for the secondary area, with further tweaking available in mono configuration options and synchronisation control. Obviously, if you are in the mood for a party, it has the enahnced party mode as well.

For ease of integration the RX-V683 also benefits from Yamaha's AV web set up configuration, meaning projects can be set up swiftly and easily by simply loading the IP address of the unit in your web-browser. This feature even enables help on remote access too if required (3rd party software required), and enables changes on the fly quickly without the use of the OSD or front panel options.

Sound quality and accurate reproduction of audio is key to any Yamaha product, and with the RX-V683 this attention to detail is not missed as this receiver can handle a host of high resolution audio codec's (supporting DSD 2.8MHz / 5.6MHz, FLAC / WAV / AIFF 192kHz / 24bit, Apple Lossless 96kHz / 24-bit playback). This 90 watt per channel AV Receiver also features YPAO and front panel USB Digital Connection for USB thumbdrives and also features Bluetooth® for wireless music streaming (with compressed music enhancer for Bluetooth).

The RX-V683 also has 192kHz/24-bit DACs for all channels and benefits from Yamaha's discrete amp configuration. In conjunction with the audio processing - the multi-channel processing also caters for the best performance as this AV receiver is compatible with many audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS:X and DTS-HD Master Audio, and also has Yamaha's adept HD Audio decoding with CINEMA DSP 3D (17 DSP programmes). The RX-V683 benefits from many of Yamaha's proprietary technologies as well - such as 'Dialogue Level Adjustment' for proper sound balance with dialogue and vocals, plus it also features Yamaha's 'Virtual CINEMA FRONT' which provides virtual surround sound if you can only have 5 speakers in the front of your system.

The RX-V683 AV receiver completely supports with latest HDMI® standards. Thanks to transmission of 4K video at 60 frames per second pass-through, you can fully enjoy the high definition video quality of 4K without degradation. It also adheres to the HDCP2.2 copyright protection standard for 4K video transmission. It also supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) Video including Dolby Vision and Hybrid Log-Gamma which provides incredible contrast, smooth tone and rich, bright colours. Furthermore it supports the wider colour gamut of BT.2020 pass-through. This AV receiver is also compatible with 3D, Audio Return Channel and CEC for easy operation.

Furnished with 6 dedicated HDMI® and 1 HDMI® output, the RX-V683 also features 4K video upscaling from HDMI®inputs. Alongside the digital state of the art connectivity, analogue and digital av connections (including a designated MM phono input for your turntable if required) are abundant, meaning it can cater for a host of more expansive home cinema applications and for a plethora of installation scenario's.
